Last day of clients for 2010-2011

We are in to our last week of Honkers.  Tons of birds and should have more by the weekend.  We will then take a couple weeks off and get ready for the snows!  We are now taking bookings for March 5-25.  We are taking limited pre bookings but will be posting bird reports on Facebook daily and here as well.  If the birds arrive in huntable numbers early we will be taking hunters, and we will hunt until there are not enough to make it worth it!  Season opens Feb 21 and closes April 10 so watch the reports and get ready to come help us save the Tundra!

4/3/10 Snow goose update

The big push that came the last two days went on through.

Well the last two days have brought on large scale migration.  Thousands of birds have been pouring through here, but the key word is through.....

With the forecast as my barometer, I'm guessing that we will start seeing snows show up today and tomorrow for sure...

The weather is cold and ponds are frozen, but the forecast is promising for geese.

Yesterday was my last day in the field for honkers.........

Birds are migrating in like nobody's business!!!

Today, the new birds showed their stuff.  They dove in so hard and so fast that it felt like opening day...

New birds good wind, birds came straight in.....

Mixed bag again.  Some pits pounded 'em and some pits got pounded.

Last two days were a little rough......

Today was fun as the birds decided to respond to calls and decoys.....

32 birds for one group today....

we moved to where the geese went yesterday and they decided to move where we were yesterday...

Wow, what a great day...for golf......

The Rowbury group from Salt Lake finished with 20 limits in 2 days...

Jan 1   10 hunters this morning done with 40 birds by 12:30

 I'm not sure if the ice in the fields is causing the birds to move late or what is really going on........

Birds are here but they are a little tougher.....

I've been out of town since Tuesday, but getting reports from the guides at home that another push of birds arrived.........

Sunday capped our weekend off with a couple great hunts.....

The Two Shot Goose Hunt was this weekend and High Plains Wingshooters goose guides had a great showing....

Today will be the test.  Plenty of birds around yesterday.........

Hopefully these birds we have will stay through the next couple days as it is predicted to get near 30 below zero.........

The last couple days have been full on migration.  -5 degrees this morning......

Yesterday was the first big push I've seen........

A few ducks trickling in and saw a few migrator geese the other day...it's right around the corner!

Weather has gone South and the birds are moving that direction as well! 

Bookings for the upcoming goose season are very strong and if you are interested please contact me as soon as possible......

Doves open Tuesday and all we can hope......

We are currently booking for the upcoming hunt seasons and want to update all of you on what is available.............

Well all the pits are out of the ground...the farming is starting and we are beginning our process of repairing everything.........

Took the decoys down this afternoon.  Sad day for me....

Winding down the season.  Still some birds around, but the blizzard just really messed us up.........

Yesterday had a good morning shoot, but today we have many inches of snow and 30-50 mph winds!! NOT HUNTING TODAY......

Migrators piled in yesterday, but the weather just won't cut us a break......

We killed 17 Friday afternoon.............

Two days of blizzard conditions had me home doing taxes.  I'll be out today looking around.........

Sounds like some good hunts over the weekend while I was gone with four shooters in the vicinity of 75 birds....

Today was awesome again. 10 limits before 11 am........

Today had a group of 10 in the field and got 38 of the 40 birds we needed........

Today saw a huge influx of birds from the south.  Quite a few snows showed up........

Sunday produced limits for all three hunters prior to noon,..........

Saturday we had folks all over the valley and filled an HPW record 17 limits in one day!..........

.....Now JJ did fine and had his limits by 10:30 or so, but I only ended up with two birds out of eight..................

Weather broke and so did the birds. At the risk of sounding terribly redundant;"We have a ton of geese!!!!".........

We had no problem shooting our birds today and actually let a few giant flocks go by at 15 yards without shooting so........

OK we asked for it to cool off, now this is a bit extreme.  -20 this morning...MINUS 20!!!!

......we shot very well and finished 45 minutes after the birds started flying...really fun hunt......

Snowed a little today which was a very nice change.  Had a very strange hunt this morning.......

We had birds work us really well early and through the mid morning, but as the wind got up to speed around 10 we were just chasing decoys.......

Shot our 16 today by 11, but it was really a strange morning.........

I only needed two limits this morning so I went to the field thinking we'd be done by 8:30 or 9....Oh no, not to be.........

The goose guides at HPW are filling limits daily and seeing huge numbers of geese......

Saw quite a few new migrators this morning and we had our six limits by 10:00.......

24 birds each of the last two days filling everyone out by 9:45 today.......

Today we had 31 birds by 10:30 and MAJOR WIND.......

Nothing new to report today as there are still plenty of birds.....

The last three days have been no exception to the hunting.  Three days ago we had limits by 10:30........

STILL GOING STRONG!  The last two days have had three clients and filled our 12 birds......

Still covered up with geese.  Easily got our 3 limits this morning by 9:00 am......

Back at the birds today.  9 shooters, 9 limits........

HPW has a few great dates available right off the bat in January.  With the number of birds in the area we are able to have 7 pits in our full time rotation right now.......

This is the hunting we've been craving for the last couple years  Torrington has been given the perfect weather to make it happen right now and we are lovin' it.......

Dec 22 Much warmer today with but a great 10-15mph breeze. Finished with 16 geese by 9:30...the breeze really brought them in nicely. They finished right in the pocket with most shots in the 10-15 yard range and almost all singles and small groups. The big groups were going to a nearby field that had 10-15K LIVE decoys....that's perfect though, since we were able to shoot our limit quickly and not bother 99.99999% of the birds working the area! We'll be taking a few days off to celebrate Christmas and then be back at it starting Friday...stay tuned!!!
